In celebration of Nettwerk Music Group’s 25th anniversary, Wiley Publishing will release Nettwerk: 25 Years Of Music We Love on October 7, 2010. Author Denise Ryan takes the reader on a behind-the-scenes journey into Canada's top indie record label and management company, with previously unpublished photos and gritty, first-hand insider stories from the company’s founders (Terry McBride, Mark Jowett, Dan Fraser and Ric Arboit) and the artists who helped transform Nettwerk from its humble origins in McBride's small Vancouver apartment to the company it is today, with offices in Vancouver, New York, Los Angeles, London, Boston and Hamburg, and over 150 million albums sold worldwide. From the birth of industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy to a 19-year-old Sarah McLachlan arriving in Vancouver with two suitcases and a guitar, McBride and company leave no detail behind.
Additionally, the Nettwerk founders have gone searching through the vaults for key tracks from the more than 400 albums that Nettwerk has released in its 25 year history to create two special versions of Nettwerk: 25 Years Of Music, one consisting of 25 tracks and the other consisting of 60 tracks. Grapes of Wrath, Skinny Puppy, Moev, Sarah McLachlan, Ron Sexsmith, The Be Good Tanyas, Tiësto Old Crow Medicine Show, Ladytron, Great Lake Swimmers, BT and The Weepies are just some of the artists that comprise these two special compilations, both set for release on October 5. Full track lists are below.
For a limited time, fans can pre-order the book for the special price of $39.99, which includes an instant download of Nettwerk: 25 Years Of Music (60 track edition). Check out a sampling of music from the compilations below.

Nettwerk Music Group CEO and Lilith Fair co-founder Terry McBridespoke at TEDxVancouver, held at the Electronic Arts campus in Burnaby at the end of 2009. A reviewer of the conference stated, "Terry McBride was an excellent choice to speak first and set the conceptual framework for the whole day...One of the things that Terry does better than anyone else – and the reason why it was a good idea to give him the floor at the beginning of the day – is that he speaks clearly to the fundamental concepts and ideas behind the commercial aspects of art and music that are often butchered for public consumption by the language of accountants and corporate executives."
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At the TEDxVancouver event, TEDTalks video and live speakers came together to spark deep discussions and connections in a small group.
