Nettwerk One Publishing and Island Records Australia recently held their 2nd Annual Bali Songwriting Summit in Ubud, Bali. The summit was conceived and launched last year as a partnership between Nettwerk One Publishing’s Peter Coquillard and Island Records Australia’s General Manager, Michael Taylor in an effort to bring together some of the hottest artists, writers and producers from around the globe in one of the most culturally unique and artistic locations in the world.
Several esteemed artists and writers of the pop world attended this year’s summit, which was held from May 28 – June 5, 2011, including Nick Jonas of Grammy-nominated superstars The Jonas Brothers, Multi-Platinum recording Australian artist Delta Goodrem, #1Billboard hit songwriter Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry, Taio Cruz) and many more (full list of attendees below). In addition to the state-of-the-art recording studios on site, attendees enjoyed several planned events that showcase the best of Bali culture, art, food and music. “Ubud has such a unique rhythm to itself. Giving artists and writers the opportunity to create outside of their normal day-to-day, can be the needed catalyst for truly special songs,” say Michael Taylor, GM, A&R / Head Of Island Records Australia, Universal Music Australia.
