Fun. To Support Paramore In The UK, Alongside B.O.B.

Fun. will be joining B.O.B. as support for Paramore's UK tour this fall. Having recently toured with Paramore in the US, fun. will be opening for the band on all their arena dates.  As previously reported, fun. is currently preparing for their US headlining tour.

fun. Adds Dates To Upcoming Headlining Tour; Steel Train Added As Support

As previously reported, fun. will kick things off in September with a 31-city headlining tour.  The tour now includes stops in Spokane, San Diego, and Webster Hall in New York City .  As an added bonus for attendees, the band has brought on opening acts that lie very close to their heart. The tour will feature New Jersey-born band, Steel Train – an indie rock group fronted by fun. guitarist, Jack Antonoff. To round out the bill, the band has also invited Jarrod Gorbel, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter behind indie act The Honorary Title.

In his new series for Spin.com, "Hopp On Pop," Blink 182's Mark Hoppus chose fun. as his Pick of the Week today! Each week Hoppus is sharing his favorite up-and-coming bands with Spin.com readers. On why fun. rocks, Hoppus says, "These are great, great pop songs and they just take it into outer space. Hopefully we can work on something in the future because I'm so inspired listening to Nate [Ruess]. I'm really impressed -- and a little jealous of how his spectrum is so broad."

fun.’s 'Aim And Ignite' Debuts At #71 On The Billboard Top 200

 

fun., breaks onto the Billboard Top 200 today at #71 with over 8,000 albums sold in its first week. Aim And Ignite also earns the #3 spot on the Internet Album Chart , #20 spot on the Alternative Album Chart, and #24 spot on the Top Digital Album Chart. Additionally, the album debuted at #46 on the CMJ Top 200.

Aim And Ignite receives an overwhelming response from critics and fans alike. Buzzbands.la founder and former LA Times music critic Kevin Bronson described the trio as a “complex hybrid of jaunty pop, glam and white soul,” while USA Today called fun. “a band that lives up to its name, in a very Electric Orchestra sort of way.” The band landed on Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” and is featured over two pages in the current issue of Alternative Press, who says fun. is "destined to make you smile."

Fans Flock To MySpace For Exclusive fun. Album Premiere

 As fun. gears up for their much anticipated debut album release on August 25, Myspace showed their support by hosting an exclusive Aim And Ignite listening party this week. The fan response was unprecedented. In only two days, the band reached over 120,000 plays and gained over 1,000 new friends!

Praise from the critics has been rolling in as well. Absolute Punk called Aim and Ignite "the most essential pop album of 2009" and Alternative Press gave the album a 4-star review, calling it "a blend of jangly, horn-infused, '70s-style pop and some kind of wild carny sideshow that has the power to bring together hipsters and scene kids."

Fans in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland and Long Beach will have the opportunity to meet fun. when they makes special in-store appearances in these cities at the end of this month (more info/locations below).
